BLAST Premier: Fall Groups 2021 Survival Guide

Evil Geniuses’ CS:GO team has a busy schedule ahead of them in the coming weeks starting with the BLAST Premier: Fall Groups on September 16, 2021.

A golden opportunity to prove the naysayers wrong, a top two finish in their group, will help EG punch their tickets straight to the coveted BLAST Premier: Fall Finals scheduled for the last week of November.

Here’s everything you need to know about Fall Groups!

Teams List:

  • Astralis
  • BIG
  • Complexity
  • Evil Geniuses
  • FaZe Clan
  • G2 Esports
  • MIBR
  • Natus Vincere
  • Ninjas in Pyjamas
  • OG
  • Team Liquid
  • Team Vitality

Stacked list of teams right? Expected of a Tier-S event.

EG is placed in Group A aka the group of death.

Being paired up in a group consisting of former Intel Grand Slam winners and star-studded rosters, the boys in blue have a tough task at hand. However, the boys are Evil and at the same time Geniuses at what they do (sic).

Expect the unexpected.

The boys will face the giants in Astralis on September 16th at 16:30 CEST/07:30 PST.

Where to watch:

The series will be streamed over at the BLAST Twitch and YouTube channel.

The tournament engages in a GSL style format where teams are directly placed into the Group Stage.

  • Three double-elimination (GSL) format groups
    • Each group has 4 teams
    • All matches are Bo3
  • Top two teams from each group advance to the Fall Finals
  • Bottom two teams from each group advance to the Fall Showdown

As is clear, the top two teams advance to the Fall Finals while the bottom two teams advance to the Fall Showdown; for a chance at redemption.

Evil Geniuses have a lot to prove and to be called the best, they need to beat the best.

Not only do the teams earn points that help them get a step closer to the crown jewel event — BLAST Premier: World Final — but they also get an opportunity to cement themselves as one of the strongest contenders.

However, it is going to be a challenge since Peter “stanislaw” Jarguz and Vincent “Brehze” Cayonte have “requested time away to focus on their respective mental health.” EG will field their coach Damian “daps” Steele in stanislaw’s stead and enlist the services of Teodor “SPELLAN” Nikolov from MAD Lions to take Brehze’s spot.

It is a challenge and that’s the beauty of it. A challenge overcome is a challenge won!

Let’s hope for the best.
