Crystallis officially joins Team Secret

According to an official announcement on the team’s social media account, the legendary Dota 2 organization Team Secret has confirmed the previous rumors that they would be making some roster changes. The chosen player was Remco “Crystallis” Arets — a Dutch Carry that has been competing in professional Dota 2 over the course of four years.

The move falls in line with the announced departure of Syed Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan — a Dota 2 major winner that has competed with Team Secret for the past six months. Although the organization (headed by the legendary Clement “Puppey” Ivanov) has been able to maintain consistent excellence since the founding of the team — most recently placing third at the 2022 iteration of The International — the lineup with SumaiL was not able to post impressive results. With him on the team, the roster was unable to win any events — placing outside the top four in several Tier 1 and Tier 2 tournaments.

Crystallis is a young but high-potential player. In the past playing for lineups such as Entity, Creepwave, and Ghost Frog, he has established himself as a talented carry the excels without playing a farm-dependant style. Some of his best hero selections include Monkey King, Phantom Lancer, and Bloodseeker, and some of his most recent team accomplishments for him include winning the DPC WEU 2021/2022 Tour 1: Division II and Dota 2 Champions League Season 8. Last month he passed 12,000 in MMR, and has a top five rating in Europe.

Many have already praised the most — citing his selfless playstyle pairing well with the style of Team Secret’s current players. With a team composed of some of the most long-tenured players in history, he joins Michał “Nisha” Jankowski to provide much needed youth to the team.
