MiSeRy is the new coach for TSM’s Dota 2 roster
TSM took to Twitter to announce last June 11 that MiSeRy will be joining the organisation as the Dota 2 team’s coach. The tweet stated that TSM will be bolstering its roster to join this year’s The International (TI).
The team fell short of winning the Stockholm Major last May after losing to OG in four games. MiSeRy was already part of TSM at the time, acting as the captain of the team. He was promoted to coach after TSM ended with 610 points from the tournament, propelling the team to second place in the DPC 2022 standings.
The next hurdles that TSM will overcome are the ONE ESL North America Summer Tour which began last June 7 and the last DPC Major to be held in Arlington, Texas this August 2022. MiSeRy will be at the helm alongside manager Christina ‘Steena’ Hoang.
MiSeRy’s track record
Rasmus ‘MiSeRy’ Filipsen is a Danish Dota 2 player and is now the newly appointed coach of TSM. He made his professional debut in 2008 by joining various tournaments in Europe under the team Mother equals toilet (Met) which later on became Roskilde Ravens.
He first played pro Dota 2 under the German team Meet Your Makers (MYM). This team managed to qualify for The International and finished in fourth place. MiSeRy also became a part of Evil Geniuses (EG) after MYM disbanded. After his stint with EG, he joined Counter Logic Gaming (CLG), another TI-qualifying team, and finished at the top 12.
MiSeRy played for yet another TI back in 2015 under the team Cloud9. Sadly, the team performed poorly and it disbanded soon after. He then joined Team Secret as an offlaner but got replaced by another player.
Filipsen returned to EG to become its captain in 2017 for a few months. He also became the coach of Brazilian team paiN Gaming during its TI run. He also played Position 5 for the South American team. Just before joining TSM, MiSeRy played for Hellbear Smashers.
MiSeRy played as a carry, offlaner, and support throughout his career. His best picks are Rubick, Lion, and Bane.
Formerly known as Team SoloMid, TSM is a North American esports organisation founded in 2009. However, its Dota 2 roster was just established in January 2022 when it signed the roster of Team Undying. Its current roster consists of:
- Enzo ‘Timado’ Gianoli (Position 1)
- Jonathan ‘Bryle’ De Guia (Position 2)
- Jonas ‘SabeRLight’ Volek (Position 3)
- David ‘MoonMeander’ Tan Boon Yang (Position 4 and captain)
- ‘DuBu’ Kim Doo-young (Position 5)
TSM’s Dota 2 roster has proven to be successful in the 2021-22 DPC season. It won first place in the DPC North America Tour 1 Regional Final back in February and it secured second place in Tour 2 Division 1 last April. A month later, TSM finished the Stockholm Major in second place. So far in the DPC standings, TSM is also in second place with 1280 points, according to Dota 2 latest news.
