Nightfall’s Favorite 3 Heroes

It is undeniable that right now Evil Geniuses’ new addition, Egor “Nightfall” Grigorenko, is one of the most talented players in the world. At the young age of 19, he has proven to be one of the most technically impressive players in the world, and has already yielded fantastic results at some of the biggest tournaments in the world. He is one of the best ranked players online throughout the world. And though he has shown proficiency on a wide array of heroes, three stand out as his absolute strongest. Here are Nightfall’s three most iconic Dota 2 characters.

Valora, the Dawnbreaker

This may seem like a curious choice, considering his relative lack of use of Dawnbreaker in comparison to other characters while competing. Although he hasn’t played Dawnbreaker much, it must be noted just how fantastic he has been with her in the few times he has played her — namely his Game 1 Groupstage series match against OG at The International 10.

While many consider Dawnbreaker to be an underwhelming character to play with, it was there he had one of the most insane games ever played. It was a relentless push — causing havoc for OG throughout the duration of the game. All told, Nightfall earned 27 kills with Dawnbreaker.

Darkterror, the Faceless Void

While a character like Dawnbreaker we’ve only gotten to see small spurts from Nightfall, Faceless Void is no doubt one of his bread and butter characters. It is by far one of his most played heroes, one that he has the most success with. It’s a perfect character for him — a melee agility hero that can become capable of taking out the entire enemy team in a matter of moments.

Nightfall has the confidence to be able to take advantage of Faceless Void’s toolkit in challenging moments, as well as the technical ability to execute these situations well. Additionally, he has shown the ability to have perfect timing with Faceless Void’s Chronosphere, making him an absolute menace to deal with in team fights. Definitely one of his strongest characters.

Azwraith, the Phantom Lancer

It doesn’t get better than Nightfall’s Phantom Lancer. It is more than just his most played character. It is more than his most successful. His signature character — it’s one of those rare cases in the game where Nightfall can actually be considered the Phantom Lancer in the world. He has demonstrated the ability to demolish online games single handedly, and has also done the same in high pressure situations. In every stage of the game, his use Phantom Lancer can be looked at as a point of mastery. It will no doubt be a powerful weapon in the hands of EG for quite some time going forward.
